Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. In the "church" this is a popular verse, perhaps because it is so easy to remember or perhaps it is this verse that so strongly inspires us to reach for our goals with the assurance that "we can" with God's power. But when we so readily quote this beloved verse, are we quoting out of custom or because we truly believe?

In Vanessa Davis Griggs' current work, Wings of Grace, featured character Johnnie Mae Taylor, with dedication and determination, pursues a goal that at times looks out of reach. Is there something God has called you to do that intimidates you, looks too big? Is there a task you feel incapable of accomplishing because the finish line is so far away you can't see it? Be encouraged. As Philippians 4:13 heralds, we can do anything through God's strength and with his blessing. Any job given by God is never a job too big.
