The Right Way

We're all faced with numerous choices each day: what to wear, what to eat, what to say. We also have daily opportunites to choose whether we will do what God directs in His Word or do what others who may not be following His Word condone. Theophilus Simmons, the fictional pastor in Michele Andrea Bowen's novel, Church Folk, is challenged to decide if he will stand for truth and obey God's principles or join those who are adhering to their own will and desires. As we all know, sometimes it's not comfortable to be the one who remains outside the circle of conformity and popularity. And we may wonder if God's way is really the better way. But God commands us to follow Him no matter what. Therefore, we must trust that walking the line He says walk is the right way.

Meditation:

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9, KJV)

"The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord." (Psalms 37:23a, NLT)
