Circle of Love
by Mata Elliott
In Yolonda Sanders' debut novel, Soul Matters, I met the character
Kevin Phillips. I like this character a lot because as the threads of
his marriage begin to unravel, he does not allow the problems he has
with his wife to keep him from spending time with his child. He is
there for her!
As I watched Kevin come to life on the pages, I could not help but
think of my Heavenly Father. HE is there for me! All the time! The
Bible says that God never sleeps (Psalms 121: 3-4). I know this is the
truth because no matter what time of day or night I have called on God,
His loving presence has never failed to surround me. If I am afraid, He
surrounds me with the assurance that I needn't be because He is my
shield and protector (Psalms 119:114). If I feel lonely, He surrounds
me with His promise that I am never alone because He will never leave
me (Hebrews 13:5). If I have a problem, He surrounds me with hope that
only He can give--that no problem is too big for His Hands and He will
work things out for my good if I allow Him (Matthew 11:28, Romans 8:28).
If you are facing a trial, do
not be alarmed, God already sees it. He knows all about you because He
is right there with you. You and I are sealed in His Circle of
Love--all the time!
Meditation:
When thou passest
through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they
shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt
not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah
43:2, KJV)
